Hi! Thank you for the compliment on my photo. I'm glad I looked at your gallery; Virtuoso is fantastic. Why not post some more pictures? Anyway, thanks again!
Thanks for the comments on Leaves in a Storm, Toys in Tumult (Widescreen Ed.), Lightner Roof, and Grand. The piano in Grand is actually not mine. My friend goes to Texas A&M University, and he showed me around the recording studio they have there. It belongs to the university.
thanks for the post on Etna erupts - if you check out the Nasa specs on the ISS it uses pretty bog standard digital SLR's so i guess it really is the lens and the viewpoint that makes all the difference :-)
Hi thanks for your comment on "Grandma". Yes i have tried the dodging and burning techniques but not on this particular photo. I dont actually attend the school anymore and have been at university for two years but no it didnt have the facilities for colour. It was black and white only. But to be honest i didnt find it such a great loss as i totally loved the oppetunity to work with black and white film. There're so many unique things you can do with b/w and vice versa that it was great to work with a generally under used medium.
Thanks for the comment on Waterfall Leaves. Glad you liked the shot. The solarization you asked about is a large mass of the waterfall which is overexposed and thus "blown out" to pure white pixels. Too much contrast between that and the much darker leaves...so I exposed for the leaves.
OOPs...wait a minute, I took another look...you probably mean the green stuff? Not sure, don't think it is there in the shot on my PC here at home.
