Hello Rob! I would like to thank my Dad for his service but he passed away last August. I appreciate you viewing and commenting on his tribute image though. Thanks for posting that nice message. He was born in Johnstown, Pa. and talked about trips to Hagerstown as a boy.

Glad you commented at "Tulip parts" - I almost put something in there about 'parts is parts' but didn't know if anyone would get it! Wasn't that an ad for Wendy's chicken tenders? I wanted to focus on the inside / bottom of the flower rather than the outer edges, using the petals more as a frame. Thanks for noticing!

Hi Rob
Know exactly what you mean about the vignette of the delicate daffodil photo. Normally, this would have been a portrait format shot for me, but since I'm not too keen on dark side-borders, I had to re-think it. The vignette was to focus the attention and as you said, it did work! I do think it is a bit 'twee' as I would say (mushy?) so won't use it often! Kate

Hey there, tks for taking the time to tell me what you think about Stands Alone! Yes I was referring to digitally, the image had way too much noise, in that I mean distractions, etc, it is planted in front of a huge tree facing the highway, lol. Feathering edges is the easiest route to getting it onto a black background minus any little flaws on the edging.

Hello Rob, thanks for your comments on "Emeralds" and "Boo!". As for the black background, it actually wasn't black. I took the photo in the yard, and the background was a very dark green. The shutter speed was higher than it should have been as far as exposure goes (because of the wind moving the leaf), so the whole thing was underexposed. Then all I had to do was adjust the lighting with my photo editing program, and keep a good contrast level. I almost always prefer to underexpose than the opposite, because you can usually fix the lighting while keeping the details, whereas the opposite isn't true.
Anyway, glad you liked the photo!

Hello Rob! Sorry for not being around much lately. Too many other time demanding things to deal with. I appreciate you nice comments on my Holiday Inn PCB image and other recent gallery uploads. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a short but needed 1 night break.

Thank you Rob for the comments on 'Sapota Tree'.. actually when i shot the pic it started raining which made me rush [u can see the raindrops on leaves...], may be one reason the picture seems blurred.

Once again thank you for your kind advice....

Thanks for the complements! I have just started to experiment with lighting. Your suggestion to soften the light sounds good. Another aspect to experiment with. Thanks.

Thanks Rob for your comment on "Grey Heron". I agree about the focus - it was taken from far away. As for the green, since the color of the bird is exactly as shown, I didn't want to make any correction. The green was actually so as you see it in the photo.
