Monarch on Cone Flower Uploaded: 08/19/11 11:24 PM GMT

Image: Monarch on Cone Flower

Monarchs are my passion! We have worked on building up a butterfly garden in our yard and this year we have more monarchs than ever. I raise the caterpillars I find in the garden in a little butterfly house and this year we'll have at least 13 - a record! I'm working on a video of the life cycle of the monarch from egg to butterfly and when it's ready I'll post on youtube and link here.

No Hilda, "Shallows"...
is just a completely made up "scene" in my mind. I made it with the program "Terragen".

Which, if you're interested, is also a free Download. You can play around with it yourself if you're interested. http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/win/downloadwin.shtml

I really appreciate you stopping and taking the time to look at it and comment.

Hilda,
Thanks for the kind words regarding Quiet Time, they're much appreciated. The wetlands of Fern Ridge are truely beautiful. Most folks enjoy the lake itself for sailing and water skiing but miss out on the more remote locations which serve as the habitat for many different bird species. Evidently, it's a real bird watchers paradise.

Hello again Hilda, thanks for your interest in "Eglise de Bramevaque". Yes, this little church is still used for weddings and baptisms, althoug not very much, because only 30 people live in that village! We were invited by an old lady to visit the church inside too, and it was very simple, but they had some very old remains that were found under the soil...The church was built in the XII century and dedicated to Saint Bartholémy...

There is just nothing that compares to the peace at a moment like sunset... And isn't it interesting that the dust in the atmosphere makes all colours? Thank you for your feedback on "at the end of the day". I am glad I managed to capture and maintain the detail in both, the sky and the foreground. Stay tuned

I can't say how much I appreciate you poppin' in to check out dried leaf. Some bugs are already well prepared for the fall season, with the camouflage outfit, lol. It is hard to find them among dried leaves, but this time I succeeded. Stay tuned

Hoi Hilda, thanks very much for your kind reply to my collage of Switzerland.
I come from a very flat land, (Holland) so i just love Switzerland where the mountains grow just under 5 km, thanks again !
