i'd like to thank all of you who had very nice words for my photos and you who had solutions for saving "the Camelot" (the boat's name). here's what i know. because no one is aboard and the sail and flags are gone she is considered abandoned. what i believe will happen is that the owners will be reimbursed for a total loss by their insurance company. then the insurance company will call a salvage company. probably the company will be one who has inflatable "collars" to fit around the boat. they will be inflated and the boat will be towed (by something with long tethers) off the reef. it will then be taken to a ship yard, fixed up and sold. why this wasn't done to begin with i have no idea. it's all about the good old insurance companies. if any of you are sailors and can offer any info. please do. no need to write comments. finis
