This old barn is situated on a back road in my township. I see this barn all the time as I frequently travel this road. Here in New Jersey we have a program called Open Space which is used to preserve land and not to allow any additional building. The site where the barn is located was purchased by the township. The acreage functioned as a farm at one time. The main house was demolished and the barn was left intact. Over the years the barn has become more beautiful as it has aged and is totally empty � (notice that you can see the rear lawn through the center of the barn doors and over to the left is an old and rusted basketball hoop. This barn is my entry into the current contest. Hope you like it!!!!! p.s - To date, I would estimate our township has purchased a total of 200+ acres - some of which has been set aside and used exclusively for parks and recreation.
