Probably something to do with your browsers cache. Maybe you have it set up to automatically empty or it doesn't accept cookies so the site has no way of recording what you have or haven't read.

I don't think that is it. When i go to my other computer it remembers that i what i have read. I think what is the problem is that you need to click mark as read at the top. It only gets rid of the new if you do that.

When I click the mark read, will it mark all of them though? That's why I haven't tried that one...

There is a MASTER "mark as read" at the top of the MASTER forum list
and .. each individual forum\discussion board has it's own "mark as read" which will only mark that forum as read
as a new member you are looking at page after page of the drivel that we spew out .. (yes, it's true) ..
just mark them all read .. now
and then someday when you're bored drill down into a forum looking for topics that might interest you
could be your beak though
