Please don' get me wrong, I am not upset or mad and this is just a question for me to try and understand. How can an image with 12 votes and a c-index of 80 drop to a 69 with 14 votes in one day.
Like I said..I'm not upset or mad about it...Just curious about how the system works with 2 additional votes...is it possible that it was just someone voting just to post an image?
Anyway...Like I said..It's just a curious question.
There you were with a C-index 80, & it suddenly drops to 69 ! hey even I might be a tad disappointed.
But just remember my friend a hi C-index reflects what is popular on Caedes, & isn't necessarily a reflection of quality at all.
Is it perhaps this upload ? .. if so it's very pretty on the eye. :o)
Thank you Cat and Phil. I think i understand now...In a simple term...the scores are basically based on a curve ....kind of like a professor grading on a curve. If this is the basic understanding please let me know.
There is an amount that's on a curve, but the answer to the question you asked is that everytime someone votes, their vote is immediately recorded. The C-I however is only recalculated once a day. So if after 6 votes, your C-I is calculated, it won't be recalculated until the next day - but the votes will all still show up as having happened in the meantime. It will stay at 80 while the 7th, 8th, 9th, etc votes show up, and the C-I will change at the next recalculation
This is the most incredible website I've ever had the pleasure of discovering. I don't have this type of talent but so appreciate each and every one who has contributed to this. I absolutely love it and get SO much from it.
Thank you so much!
