I lost track but I think I got parts of 30 layers in this shot. There were so many good shots for the contest I thought this Grade A photo would fit right in. There might be a couple of Fryers in there as well. Not the Nottingham type, but just your Colonel type. There's a name for those that don't vote for this. :)

I can't figure out why you are the only one that understands the theme of the contest. What are people thinking, anyway? Outstanding shot, Tick. Can you get me a couple dozen eggs while you are at it?

I was hoping someone would think of this - I did but no access to chickens in this urban area - this is great! I love the angle you chose.

Wonderful shot Tick! A great idea for the contest too! My husband used to have chickens just like these. I never liked taking care of them because it's too hard to give them water in the winter here.

Nobody will have so many "layers" Tick unless one of your Amish friends decides to take part. Funny idea and why not? Good luck.

Actually, I'm thinking of the layers yet to come... brine solution, flour, spices, finely-crushed corn flakes, my teeth, etc. 8P I'm also frankly surprised at how good the focus is, considering how flighty these birds normally are, moving every which way in the hunt for food. Best of luck in the contest, Ron.
