A Squadron of Pelicans briefly stopped by our old City Lake this spring and gave me some photo ops. This was a time I could have used a 600mm lens. Maybe someday. This is a small portion of them. I think they discovered the goose was the spy and sent him packing. A group of Pelicans have many names. They are also called "brief," "pod," "pouch," "scoop," and "squadron." As you can see, I prefer squadron. The movie prefers brief.

The Pelican Brief is a 1993 thriller. It is a very good movie for those who like mysteries. You can read more about it here.

My contribution to this week's SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES. Grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy.

Nice shot of the "squadron" and the right photo for the movie title. The Canada goose is obviously a spy. He has been exposed and is taking off at full speed. Nice one Tick.

Tick, I loved John Grisham's book (as I do with most of his wonderful books) and I liked the movie. You have merged your photography with the movie theme very well. Your picture also is evidence that we should at all times be on the watch for geese in pelican clothing.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), think that the Canadian goose was a subject of a thriller too, 😜 !

Very apt capture of this SNATM-theme (🎥) ! 👍 .

PS: the bag of popcorn is meanwhile empty, 😄 !

Great action shot and somewhat satirical portrayal of this movie title, one I recall seeing but a long time ago...thanks, Tick, for another super submission for SNATM!

It appears that the pelicans gruffly informed the goose that it wasn't welcomed in their Brief and it was time to get out of City.

"Yeh?"

"The guy in the grey jacket and black turtleneck... you t'ink he's tryna make it look like he's a pelican?"

"No ideah, but I did notice he was outta uniform. He ain't even wearing th' orange muck boots. Uh-oh, I t'ink he heard us... he's takin' off.""
