It seems I have been getting an inordinate amount of "Flood Control Error" messages when I have been commenting on photos lately. Most of the time, I'm the only one on the site.

I thought this would make a good Wacky Wednesday contribution since people were ignoring "Road Closed" signs when I was out taking flood photos on the Mississippi River. You can view more flood photos by starting here and following the links.

Still wanting a Photojournalism gallery. Here is a link to a discussion thread on Photojournalism.

They ignore flood warning signs around here as well when the Des Plaines river floods but sometimes to their detriment. Nice shot.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), you're not the only one who's dealing with these 'Flood Control Errors' (FCE). When I like to provide someone with a comment of mine on his or her post, sometimes this message appears up to four times in a row to me. Was meant to be as a countermeasure against people with bad things in mind about this site, but often this remedy is worse than the 'disease'.
Ignoring 'Road Closed' signs in these, perfectly by you depicted, conditions, sure is a 'flood control error' as well, but to my humble opinion not that irritating as the Caedes FCE's (unless you've gotten the full load of the splashing water, 😜 ).
Good 'action shot' for W²

Very good and well timed shot Tick. The equally big spray on either side of the car make it look like wings!

I've had those "Flood Control Error" messages lately too...sometimes even when I try to post my very first comment of the day...pretty wacky, as is your image of these people ignoring the road sign...next thing you know they'll find themselves in deep water...there's another expression starting with 'deep' but I won't use that one...great water action and post for WW.

Tick, there appears to be ground swelling rising up in support of your dream of a photojournalism gallery. Good luck with that, my friend.

Hope you didn't go through it to get the photo. Great action shot I'd say.

'But I 'm driving a truck' he said. 'It has big tires and is high off the ground.' 'I don't know why it stalled in the middle of the water.' 'Thanks for coming to haul me out of the water.'

I find it rather ironic that all this water, standing and spraying alike, is being bracketed by fireworks. Nice action, Ron.
