Fryingpan Canyon near Deming, NM. A variety of petroglyphs are framed by ocotillos and a beautiful juniper. Access to this site requires only 4WD and high ground clearance plus sturdy hiking shoes, no fees or supervision. That's why I love living in this part of the country.

I sure know how you feel, David. I've spent much time in the South West around Deming and also the border areas from Texas to the West coast. The desert country is absolutely fabulous.

Great photo of some pretty rugged territory with interesting Native American history!

Outstanding glyphs. I recognize a few of them and hope you got some detail captures. P22 is a font factory located in Buffalo, NY, and they specialize in fonts of a historic nature---the handwriting of Leonardo da Vinci, a font based on one of the last letters from the lost Virginia colony of Roanoke, several based on those developed by Frank Lloyd Wright---and this one, of four groups of petroglyph images from Europe, Africa, Australia, and North America. Looking forward to more from this area, David. One of the places on my bucket list is also in the Southwest, the Pueblo Bonito in New Mexico, about 260 miles north of Deming.
