This may to do with tidal ebb and flood influences, Bruce. But to me, it's a way of Mother Nature to provide us with a huge contemporary abstract with using mud and water as paint. Thanks to your keen eyes, we can enjoy this phenomenon in every part of the world now, Buddy!

I think in order for me to spot fossils and trackways, I would need to either see the original hi-rez image or be there in person. I developed an interest and appreciation for geology during my career, often working with those unique folks, and this series of yours really strikes a cord. I just realized one use for this image that many might not think of; the background graphic for a long, large aquarium. I have a 55-gallon that is about the perfect ratio. Hmmmmmm.
