The "Doris Longwing" I believe. Taken at the California Academy of Sciences in SF, CA. The place was full of wonderful butterflies and birds:) Thanks for looking.

Bruce, I'm not a specialist in identifying butterflies, so I take your narrative for granted.
What I know however is that you've provided us with a wonderful butterfly capture.
I agree with Sandi about the natural setting. Without your narrative I had thought that it was taken in 'the wild'. Well done, Buddy.

A variety of the Heliconius species of butterfly. A lovely and rather unique flutter, Bruce.

Unusual and beautiful little butterfly. I have never seen one quite like it. Natural and great capture.
