This magnificent castle is located near Annecy - Savoie - French Alps. I was driving to Annecy and I saw this beauty "floating" above the forest, I was really surprised by the intemporality in this scene... And I was a little bit late for the contest History...Anyway, I hope you enjoy this view dear friends !!

I learned a new word while enjoying the beauty of this timeless shot.
Lucky for the contest entrants that you didn't post this in time.
A sure winner.

That's a dynamic looking castle and I love the curved geologic uplift on the mountain to the left. I would have suggested putting a little more light on the castle to make it pop and cropping off the bottom 1/6th of the photo. Those dark shadows in the trees compete, in their contrast, with the castle. By cropping at the bottom it would have pushed the foreground emphasis onto the castle and made it look even more like it was peering out over the tops of the trees. I downloaded a copy and did that, plus I cropped the right side right where the other mountain on the right starts and I removed the large powerline tower poking up above the first mountain. By cropping in on the right, I placed the castle off-center, to the right. The rise of the castle and the remaining mountaintop then create a natural diagonal across the photo, a classic style of composition; striving to keep subject matter out of dead center in the image and causing the viewer's eye to travel from spot to spot, deliberately. Seems like a whole lotta messin' around with your work, eh, but I always find myself looking for the image within the image. Even with all this stuff I'm throwing at you, it's still an excellent shot. Faved. -Nik
