A lone canoeist on the Ala Wai Canal, Honolulu.
The canal is man-made and was completed in 1928 to drain the surrounding rice paddies and swamps which then became the tourist resort of Waikiki.
Wonderful lead in to this one Lyn, and the cloudy sky looks good! Nicely done in my opinion. I would be walking along the canal, and taking in the sights. tigs=^..^
I've got a yellow kayak just like that one but, unfortunately, that's not me in it. It appears, from the maps, that one can paddle almost two miles on the Ala Wai Canal from the Kahanamoku lagoon, at oceanside, to the end of the wide canal, and another mile from the Ala Wai along a smaller canal to the Palolo stream. Including the two long branches of the Palolo there would be enough length of water for a kayaker to paddle all weekend and not see the same shore more than twice. Inviting water and photograph, Lyn.
