Leo Nui is the parrot's name and it means Loud Voice, which is most appropriate !
One of several parrots that live at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. They were not tethered or enclosed and seemed quite content to sit around saying hello to visitors and sqawking at each other.
This one and another called Al Kapena (Captain Al) had a very excited conversation when they spied the carer coming to give them food, and jumped straight on to his arm when he came close. They are taken away at dusk and I expect are safely housed at night.

Very colourful....We had one a very long time ago...had to keep it covered because of the noise it give out...After a while...a dear friend took it to his home...to give us a bit of peace!... :)

Like this, except a little more friendly among themselves? My wife is a bit freaked around birds since cliff swallows would build nests over her front door every summer, dive-bombing anyone who tried to get in the house, so while I would be delighted to see parrots like this, I'm not sure she would. A good close image of this one, obviously used to visitors and their cameras.

Yes, they can be VERY loud at times, lol...this one, however, seems to be trying to dismiss that as just rumor with his quiet, dignified pose and serious expression...beautiful birds tho' and a great shot, Lyn.

Nice pose. These are very intelligent and high maintenance pets. If one wanted to invest the time with one, be prepared to have a hyperactive toddler around in bird form for many years.
