We were fortunate to be in Honolulu at the time of its 24th Annual Festival which is held to promote Hawaii and Japan's call for peace while celebrating cultural exchanges.The theme this year was "Harmony over the Ocean, Journey to Peace" and a massive fireworks display marked the end of the festival, representing the pursuit of friendship and peace.
Sitting on the warm sand of Waikiki beach watching the fireworks, I took a few photos, but not many as I just wanted to enjoy as much of the wonderful display as possible. It lasted almost half an hour.

It's ironic that such a fireworks display should represent peace between Honolulu and Japan, considering the fireworks that Japan brought there in 1941. Cooler heads are now prevailing... always a good thing.
