Butterfly Bush (Buddleia Davidii)
Beautiful but a pest plant.
Labelled an invasive weed in New Zealand - it invades native plant areas and loves riverbeds and river banks so can cause silt build-up which can intensify flooding. It grows anywhere and does not mind heat or cold - even likes frosts.

This looks a bit like Pickerel weed also an invasive exotic.

That colour is so striking and beautiful.When I was in New Zealand my friends there told me that "black-eyed susan" is considered to be a pest. Here certainly not.

That's right, Lyn. I have several species in my garden. They work as a magnet for attracting butterflies. Their shadow side (figuratively meant) is that they must always be pruned severely to prevent them from overgrowing the rest of the vegetation.
