Have a Fabulous Friday everyone.
This pretty gerbera is part of a bouquet that was delivered to me on Tuesday evening, just a couple of hours before New Zealand descended into total covid lockdown at midnight. It was due for delivery this weekend and the kind local florist prepared and delivered personally as many orders as she could before having to close her doors, so that we would not miss out.
This is the second time we have endured total lockdown and as much as we dislike it everyone here hopes it will be as successful as the last time was. We have been very fortunate in having no community cases of the virus for a very long time and it was so easy to become complacent. Now we have had a big wake up call.

And here in the U.S., out of the 3,219 counties, 86% are experiencing high transmission of COVID-19 and the Delta variant, and over half the remaining 14% are in the substantial transmission category. That is nuts. I believe it is the lies and rhetoric of a single former politician that is responsible for most of the millions of people refusing the vaccine, thereby allowing for the Delta variant, and likely further variants, to continue to ravage us. (Sorry, I do not mean to rant but I am of the Salk polio vaccine generation, and nearly went blind because I contracted German measles about six years before the Rubella vaccine was available. I find it irresponsible to put the lives of others in jeopardy by being a science-denier.)

Not only is this gerbera absolutely perfect (and Richie is right about the water drops), but your framing treatment is spectacular, turning a nice foof into a work of art. Right into my favorites file.

A delicate colour - I usually associate gerberas with much more vibrant hues. I share your lockdown blues. We have over 800 cases today in New South Wales.

I don't want to engage in politics at Caedes, but I do want to point out that I completely agree with 'Nik'.

I hope the lock down will eradicate the Covid-19 (Corona) virus in New Zealand.

Very attentive that the florist delivered the bouquet before the lock down started.

It provides us with a beautiful photograph thanks in part to your photographic talent, Lyn. Thanks for that.

I hear you on lockdown Lyn but your country is an example for all of us on handling this. I agree 100% with niks's comments about my country. This is just so soft and lovely - wonderful act by your florist to get it out so quick.
