I just returned from a trip through Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Here is the first of a series of lucky shots I'd like to share with you. I hope you can still enjoy those photos even though you must have seen at least a million of similar pics. This series start in Zion.

An inspiring composition. Such a rugged beauty. I doubt it was lucky, the quality throughout is excellent. Love the skies complimenting the view. Saved.

To my eyes.. looks hyper-realistic.

That's a good good thing. :o)

As beautiful as the landscape captured is (and it most certainly is ... wonderfully composed with the stump and deadwood in the foreground anchoring the shot, nice and natural colour) ... I am most impressed with the gradation of colour and delineation in that of the sky.

The blues .. subtle violets/magentas on the outside edges of the clouds ... et al.

Thanks for sharing this one with us, and I, too ... look forward to seeing more images/photos from your trip. :o)

+favs for me.

p.s. (*leaves a treat behind for Simba who missed out*)

Glad I found this one Paul. It is always interesting to see how a great photographer like yourself composes a scene. You are a maestro for sure.

Like so much of your work the lighting is spot-on, the focus tack sharp, there's great color, and the subject matter very interesting and eye-catching. I think though, that in the composition I find that broken trunk and the dead timber (unlike Les) to be out-of-character with the rest. For myself I would have moved more to the right to leave it out of the shot. But that's just me. I often haven't a clue when it comes to composition. Another terrific shot, Paul. You're not only good at representing your own country but mine as well. Always looking forward to more... Nik

Great desert capture. A lot of desert shots are kinda blah, but this one is very interesting. You have a good eye!
