Wow what a beautiful photo this is,the detail is stunning and love all the colours and light in this shot.I especially the sun light coming through the butterfly wings.
A fraternity brother (Sigma Nu) of mine, and fellow fine art major, many years ago in college, specialized in photo-realism oils. His subject was mainly waterfowl--ducks and geese--and his average canvas was about 3' by 5'. He spent a great deal of time on each one and they were phenomenal in quality. His usual place of exhibition was in the various meeting rooms in the Student Union, and, even though I knew these paintings well (his studio was next to mine), and I knew where they were hung, every time I walked into one of these rooms I would do a double-take, temporarily thinking there was a hole in the wall and giant geese walking by outside... they were that good. I just opened this butterfly photo of yours and it was a clear case of deja vu... there was a twelve-pound butterfly on my screen... I dare not swat at it or I'll just get it angry.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
First to see first to say,"you do beautiful work and I wish I had your 300mm." Good shot, my friend.
