Many years ago, when we were first exploring Pickett, I noted a fall labeled "Double Falls" on one trail. A few young men who were there told me, "It's OK, but not worth the hike." This spring, I was looking at the map and realize that they could not have been looking in the right place because it required crossing a stream and hiking an additional quarter mile. So, off we went to find it. I think this is the one the young men found. It is about 4-5 feet tall. Nice, but not the falls we were after.

When fear comes to me I will stubbornly choose Faith Instead!!!!
This shot reminds me to drop my small Nikon underwater camera into my bag, to take along on hikes where I might find an opportunity like this. That clear water would be perfect to place the camera lens halfway underwater, catching both the rocks, turbulence, and any wee critters down there in the lower half of the frame, plus the small falls in the upper half. From that angle it would look much larger and very much worth the hike. Personally, I have yet to meet a falls or cascade I did not enjoy. Keep them coming, Jeff... I am definitely a fan.
