I really like how this turned out, except when I enlarged it, the smugs on the glass were very noticeable. Perhaps I'll be able to try again when the glass is cleaner.
I have some fish in my 55-gallon aquarium that look very much like these, called *Kitty Tetras*, that, as juveniles, are a light bluish-gray, and the multiple dots on their tail fins are split between black and light blue. When they reach adulthood, their bodies will turn gold. While I used b&w film exclusively in the college darkroom, and appreciate the philosophy of monochromatic photos, I personally prefer color when it comes to fish, some of the most varied in color in nature. I come by it not from visits to aquariums but by scuba and snorkel diving in the pacific ocean.
