f/7.1@1/500s ISO 200. Sometimes the light's just perfect. When I started shooting flowers, I used to look for good subjects. Now I look for good light and then wait to see what the rising sun will show me next. "Honey Perfume's" a Floribunda rose. You see here three buds pushing up from under the skirt of the opened rose, ready to carry on the tradition of Floribundas' blooming in clusters. These guys are looking a little peachy in the very early light. By 7 a.m., they were looking their usual golden selves, but I like this shot better anyway. One lovely extra of shooting early in the morning: the background willingly drops to black and makes the flower heads as ready for their closeups as Miss Desmond. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work.

WOW..this is simply amazing! Love the soft light just shinning very close to the center of the rose. Beautiful. Your flower talent is one I'm jealous about.

This is so very beautiful. Magnificent in fact! You've taken a most perfect and lovely photo of this outstanding Rose. And with the buds showing like that, its just awesome. Good idea you shared with us too, as far as the light and then the black background. Just a delightful photo and the colour of that Rose is just magical. Bravo on the whole thing. Verena

I have to agree with everyone else.
I just looked through your gallery and could not find a bad shot in the bunch so I can only say spectacular work as always.

Lesley, to me this is one of the best rose images on Caedes since I joined the club about four years ago. Thought that my dear friend Stan (Roseman_Stan) was the best, but you can compete with him! Excellent post in all ways. Thanks for sharing!

No need to compete at all. Sharing the beauty we behold is what it is all about for me. This shot certainly does that in a very fine way. Superb work this is.
