Taking the gloves off here, Raj ... get ready ...

Lose the red border.

Or, lower the opacity to that of at least 50%. If not less than.

That said, nice clarity and focus on the bloom.

Annnnnnd ... nice DOF. The background green is nicely blurred as a result and is a great backdrop for this gorgeous flower.

Got some good good bokeh happening in the background. :o)

Raj, you've done it again my friend: another wonderful F² image.
The colours are stunning! Reading Les' advice above: think it's just a matter of taste. To me it's an appropriate finishing touch to an already wonderful presentation.
Regards, Cornelius.

Simply stunning Raj - and a great title.

(I have to agree with the suggestion to lose the border though - it is perfect without it)

A great capture of a beautiful dahlia, Raj, which, unlike my dahlias, looks totally earwig-free.

I only wish I had dahlias! But having yours on my desktop is almost as good. A beautiful shot. You have really brought out the colours nicely.

What a great desktop this is Raj. I normally don't use many borders but I do like them. In fact I used one myself today. It looks fine on this one to me. Great F² post.

Kickin' colour intensity, the super tight crop works a treat as does the positioning of the centre of the flower off centre at the top right power point. At full size the selection you used to blur the background shows up in various spots and is a small detriment to the overall impact. A beauty for sure.

Perfect DOF & great colours, just goes to show it does not have to fill the whole frame to work..
