Most ambush predators have to be patient. This guy is one of the best. Excellent shot, Raj. Fine focus and I love the greens (although not the suds in the water).
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
Blue heron are remarkably patient - they frequent the small lake outside my condo building as do the white heron or egrets. I like this composition very much and the reflection is also nice.
Ohhhh, this one will go very nicely with the others in my "water" based wallpaper folder, thanks, Raj. Those eyes are very intense and I know these birds are often leery of humans. I'm guessing you used a long telephoto to capture it?
