This was taken in downtown Boston, Mass. I thought this unique it being this small building among all the bigger ones. I don't know the name of the building or the area. We were just walking around later on one afternoon and this caught my eye.

It's interesting to see how the world has grown-up around historical sites and how we have successfully preserved them. A good POV on this one, Carol. I hope you had time for a refreshment at the "Cheers" bar.

I think it was in Denver where I saw a church amidst tall buildings like the one in Ron's link. That's what your shot reminds me of. Beautifully taken and presented, Carol.

Your building in the foreground is a wonderful piece of architecture, Carol. You've photographed it marvelously showing the contrast between it and the modern structures. The modern buildings do not have the personality of these historic structures. You've chosen a very clever angle to showcase the old and wonderful with new.

That is the Old State House and it's near the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. That is a fun area to visit in Boston. I haven't been there since the mid 90's. Great shot.

Wow this is one perfect composed photography and you sure got a lot for the eyes to feast upon and the detail in these buildings are very sharp .I like how the building is yes small compared to the back buildings but the small one stands out the most and that makes for a great capture. Also very nice light and natural colours too.Well done Carol!

Whenever I'm shooting a scene that is a bit dark due to being shaded by the environs, I shoot a range of exposures, using a tripod so that each exposure is exactly the same except for the light. That allows me to combine light areas with dark from different photos. Pulling a lighter Old State House and placing it among shadowy buildings in a darker version would make the historic structure pop. Actually you could still try it by lightening a copy of the photo and utilizing it to blend dark and light buildings. Just a thought. Other than that it's a terrific capture, a nice contrast of colors, , structural materials, history, and time. Good eye, Carol.
