I miss a few things about the Midwest. You can cruise around and see all sorts of buildings that have an enormous amount of character. I love the textures in this image. Great job.
Carol, I'm not ruling out (pure speculation though) that this typical barn has become too small for its owner and has had a bigger one built. One can think of countless other reasons why it has been abandoned, but that too is speculation. Even if it were to collapse now, it has at least been photographically preserved for posterity. Good work again!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

That*s a pretty darn good capture for a cell phone, Laura, and you say you caught it from quite a distance? Barns are a classic subject for painting, illustration, and photography, as testified by the volume of books on them in libraries. I knew a historical architect who crashed several cars in his career, rubber-necking at round barns that unexpectedly appeared while he was driving county gravel roads. Being an artist/historian myself (retired) I have seen a gozillion of them (to quote Forest Gump), in art and in the flesh, but I must say the style you apply to your captures brings an entirely unique and artistic application to the subject I have rarely seen. I always look forward to seeing what new structure you have found (there are so many styles and varieties to discover).
