Carol, soon it will be gone indeed. Only your well treated photograph remains. Little consolation, because it would have been better if this barn had remained intact, not only because it has served a useful function for years, but also because it's a characteristic part of the environment in which it stands or has stood.
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

Your editing on this old barn is wonderful but, that barn, unfortunately, will disappear from the landscape in due time - Very Nicely Done Carol!!!!!!!
Many members here have a reputation for some aspect of photography, design, subject matter, etc. I am pretty sure, Carol, that you have the technique of turning a photo into a complete piece of artwork, making it look like you created the entire image from pen and paint and scratch. Being able to instinctively spot top-drawer scenes and shooting angles also plays heavily in your work. Kudos.
