Rather than capture a pier from above, I think they are much more interesting seeing them from below. This was one of the pier's in Blackpool, but I also added abit of a tint to liven up what was quite a bland coloured photograph. Hope you like. Thanking you in advance for any comments.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, there will always be someone better. Challenge not another person, but yourself. Ensure your victory lies within, so others may one day follow YOUR achievements.

I have to agree, Q-Ann, this is amazing. One of those pictures everyone would like to claim as their own.

Tint away, Ann. Sometimes that is all an image needs to give it some oomph as you have done here.

Ann, I thought at first sight that you had fled because the pier was on fire, lol.

Rather unsual, but a very original way to give an image more
'tension' and to make it more vivid. Well done.

Regards, Cornelius.

Awesome shot, Ann. I love the pier in silhouette, and the color of the sky is fantastic. The reflections on the water are top notch too. Outstanding composition, and presentation.

Like it? I've been going through the voting booth and, although it's often a mixed bag in quality, tonight was particularly barren, at least until yours showed up. Like it? I put a link to it in my favorites file. Like it? It's visually striking, is tack-sharp in its focus, has a very strong draw to the upper right, pulling me right in to the photo, the color works great, making it look like an extreme sundown, the gradation from deep red to the bottom gray is very smooth, despite the fact that these two colors usually fight each other... like it? I'm going to snitch a copy to add to my "water" images screen saver, made up of about 280 of the best water images I've seen on Caedes. Like it? Umm... yeah. I gave it a 10 in the booth because it earned it. Thanks for sharing

Good job Ann! I like the pier in black silhouette with the bright red rays peaking through, the black and red make for a nice contrast

Adding the tint was a great idea - what an atmospheric scene!
