I couldnt have been at a better place at a better time when I took this photo. I was standing on the Near Island bridge in Kodiak, Alaska which isnt but about 100-150 feet above the water when i saw a pod of whales swimming underneath it. I had just a few seconds to take the shot before they were back underwater and i managed to get them right as they were breaching! It was such a magnificent sight. I hope you all enjoy.

Amazing shot...I think that the word 'serendipity' is called for here (something good unlooked for). Great timing, great capture and great eye.

Wonderful shot! I like the rippling water and the spacing of the whales!! I like how the middle whale is the most out of the water, you can see it the best!!

I know this one goes back a ways (to just a few months before I joined Caedes) and I could have sworn I had left a comment, but you're absolutely right about being in the right spot at the right time. Great photography is half-planning and half-chance. In 10 years I've seen many images of varying degrees of quality, either technical or subject, and the smallest group is the "phenomenal" groupjust a moderate handful, really. Take it from a former ocean scuba diver, PADI-certified in Yokosuka, Japan... this one is most certainly in the "phenomenal" category.
