The same would likely hold true for this lakeshore, too dark to read, but it would not matter, since my mind would dream up all sorts of mysteries associated with the gloom here. Come to think of it, though, I might just show up with an Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, and a Shirley Jackson on my iPhone, set to night reading, and see which one best suits this atmosphere.
