This is the team roping even. Pretty simple to explain but hard to do. The calf is in the chute with a string tied to the barriers on the ropers chute. If the ropers break the barrier before the calf it is a 10 sec penalty. The header has to rope both of the horns. Anything else is a 5 sec. penalty. The healer has to rope both the hind legs. Anything else is a 5 sec penalty. Believe me when I say it takes a perfect team of two men and two horses to do this, and like the calf roping a barrel racing. These horses are very valuble.{ Hope this one does better. The c indexs on this series has SUCKED!}

I'm not too familiar with what happens there, but the picture is surprising that motion and agitation are cool!

Billy - Ah, the c-index... let's not go there today, it's not good for the blood pressure. I am enjoying the views of the rodeo, as it is something with which I am not familiar. Thad

Billy, see that you're dealing with the same problem: (rather) good comments and a disappointing C-index score. To make people aware of this discrepancy, I've started a thread in the Discussion Board. Hadn't however the hope that I could change the behaviour of 'visitors' of the VB.
Good action shot to me though!
Regards, Cornelius.

There is something surreal about this image, which I think is enhanced by the blur. Tough lighting conditions. The colours are warm and vibrant.

I've given up trying to second guess c-index results, so I hope you don't fret about scores. Just keep posting what interests you and what you enjoy.

The good ones make it look easy and the bad ones, well ........... A good action shot BTK. I have seen them in action.
A wise man once told me: "It's just a small problem in a big world." That applies to the C-Index.
Good luck to you.

Comment unto one another as you would have them comment unto you. If you like comments, you need to comment some yourself.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

I like most things Rodeo, so I like this shot.
As to the C index, pffftttt! It has no relevance IMHO, means little to nothing, ignore it as I do and keep clicking that camera!

I think I'll keep c-index opinions to myself..Perhaps a faster shutter speed Billy ..Would have taken some of the blur from the shot 500sec would do it and a 800iso maybe..Nice shot tho..R.
