The slippery slope fallacy is committed only when we accept without further justification or argument that once the first step is taken, the others are going to follow, or that whatever would justify the first step would in fact justify the rest. Note, also, that what some see as the undesirable consequence lurking at the bottom of the slope others may regard as very desirable indeed.
Howard Kahane and Nancy Cavender, Logic and Contemporary Rhetoric, 8th ed., Wadsworth, 1998

Slippery slope. I carry a spare shirt; pretty soon I'm carrying spare pants. Then I'd need a suitcase. Next thing I know, I've got a house and a car and a savings plan and I'm filling out all kinds of forms.

It looks almost like a cutaway of something--a planet, skin, surface-chilled lava flow--the smooth angled surface hiding a turmoil of color and heat and repetition. If a planet, then it's one floating near others behind it. If lava, then it's very near to pushing through and building a volcanic cone. If skin, well, it's no one I want to invite to dinner with the family.

Although this slope has a rough surface I won't to 'climb' in order to prevent me from making mistakes and/or accidents.
Viewing it behind my screen is an excellent way to enjoy this wonderful render, John, ☺ !

I believe I have suffered a few slivers trying to come to a dead stop on the slippery slope though more often than not have plunged wrecklessly into what lay at the bottom...a great design, John, and the contrast in lighting between the foreground and background indicative of the opposing choices and results one may face while taking this ride.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Honestly, what has inspired your creative process?? I assume you are from this earth? Excellent work, I am totally immersed in this scene, the details, variations, textures, colors, again, and again, you have the instinct and insight to create works of art that are unique and riveting. Favorite.
