As a fresnel lens, either one would make for a uniquely-colored lighthouse light. The details and repetition of lines and shapes is something that has always drawn and fascinated me. It is why I have thought for years that I might have an undiagnosed low-level case of autism. Children with autism often love imagery with repetition. Do you recall our fellow Cadesian, Vladimir Gerasimov, the Russian fellow who drew those detailed and whimsical (flying giraffes, lantern fish shining their light so a young fish could read a book, etc.) cgi drawings that were loaded with details? He gave me permission to collect hi-rez copies of his work to create a special book for the autistic daughter of a co-worker. It was a huge success. I would bet the bank that your work would be equally successful for the same purpose. What a rewarding use that would be, eh? Just a thought.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

John, by checking-out THIS LINK one can find detailed information about the phenomenon 'Fresnel lens'.
If such a colored lens were used in lighthouses, I think the opposite goal would be achieved. Instead of preventing ships from stranding, they would run aground because the seamen responsible for navigation would be mesmerized by the magical light. The history of the Lorelei shows us what happens when seamen are distracted by anyone or anything, 😁 !
Fantastic render though.
