The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
As with all of your art postings, this one too offers so much for the eye to take in. I personally like the center to left much better for the complexities it offers. I like the earth tone colors of the city and surrounding mountains. I also enjoyed the range the sky offers from right to left, from brightness of the sun effects to the blue of the left side.
Very nice! The composition work is superb. Having the airship in silhouette is probably my favorite part of the image. I think it adds the best element of mystery and exploration. The atmospheric lighting also looks good. The only thing I notice that's a bit odd is the fog cuts off pretty suddenly on the foreground cliff wall. Possibly the edge of a bounding box or something? Great work!
Very post-apocalyptic. When (not if) our civilization does fall, it would be nice to think there was something left over to study besides aluminum beer cans. Enjoyed this. Tom
Hmmm... somehow I missed this one. Most of these computer designed landscapes fall a bit short of convincing, probably because that's all they are... landscape only. Their light source and reflections on watery surfaces also often fail to look realistic. By adding the deteriorating structures, the ancient-style balloon, and the haze in the sun really makes this one a standout. It could easily be a storyboard or a poster for a science-fiction movie. Excellent, work, Chris.
