At the right side of this 'wagon' there's a sign that reads 'Hier betalen a.u.b.' (you have to pay here please). One has to put the money (Euro 0.50 - Euro 1.50 per pumpkin) (Euro 1.00 = US $ 1,14) in a kind of shoebox. I've met the farmer (while working on his fields) and asked him whether everybody has the discipline for paying the taken goods. He said to me that I had never experienced difficulties about that. Have my doubts whether this should have happened in an urban environment too.

This image was taken on the peninsula Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Very colorful and festive image for the fall Cornelius - I'll take two pumpkins and five gourds - we also have that system of payment here in the U.S. - it's called the honor system and I always do - Great Capture!!!!!!!!

That is probably the most attractive roadside stand I have ever seen. I might even stop myself even though I don't do that kind of shopping here, except at the super market. Outstanding work, Mr. C.

Lovely shot of the colourful collection of vegetables. This can happen only in villages in Germany too.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

A pleasing, colorful holiday image, Mr. C. I like the wheels on this "cart", although it must be a real bear to roll back to the barn. Here in North Dakota, a small town in the far west, called Sentinel Butte (pop. 63), features a gas station that is also a local small grocery store, pool parlor, school bus stop, and features a large window from where the town's only squirrel can be viewed. When the owner's not present, locals fill their tanks, using a key to the pump they've been given, and leave their payment in a slotted box. This honor system even resulted in the owner and his wife being guests on the Oprah Winfrey show. For more, read this short Bismarck Tribune article. Actually, I find it just a little depressing that a concept like this is the exception nowadays, particularly here in the U.S., instead of the rule.
