'Nik' (Nikoneer) said in his comment on THIS ONE: "I noticed that the rails extend a little ways beyond the covered platform in Hoedekenskerke, almost to where I saw a strange looking round, maze-like shape in the middle of a pond. Any idea what that is? And do you have a photo of it? It's right at the bottom of the Waardweg curve, just southwest of town."

My reply was: "'Nik', think you've seen De Buffer (The Buffer) with the park 'De Pluimweide'..... I don't have an image of 'De Buffer' available, but I have one of the adjacent small railway station of the village of Hoedenskerke however. Think I'll post it in the near future."

This image shows this small railway station.

I really love it when architects include some flair to their projects, even one as small as this. They could have simply put some straight bars near the top of the support poles to hold up the roof, but these are so much more interesting. It's something that was commonplace a hundred years ago but, with materials costing more and the push to make things look more "modern", this flair is seldom seen today. We're missing out. Thanks for the further edification, Mr. C. Now I can see the ground level view of what I spotted in the satellite photo. It supports my thought that this rail line would be a very picturesque trip to take.

I have visited a similar staton in Germany a long time ago. Unfortunately I had no camera with me then. The train was called Rasender Roland
Your image here is pure nostalgia and very nice.

"All aboard," as opposed to "All ashore that's going ashore," SEA.
Great looking scene that would please me to experience.

Haven't ridden on many trains in my life but I wouldn't mind riding on this one. Could capture Cornelius.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
