I've captured this traditional windmill on the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, the Netherlands, in a early stage of Autumn 2017. It wasn't an optimal day for a photo shoot, because of the hazy/gray weather conditions, but I was lucky because the sun was peeking through the mist when I was there.

A matter of beginner's luck? (☺ ☺ ☺)

That glimpse of the sun has made this a bright and beautiful shot of the mill and surroundings.

The hazy weather didn't spoil the glorious colours left there at this time!...

Very nice indeed!

I think the subdued light is lovely especially as the sun is shining on the mill

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

That's a fairly typical sky for this time of year, C., and a typically calming and beautiful capture from our Dutch friend, Cornelius. The gray sky allows the emphasis to be on the mill and the colors in the leaves to pop.

Sometimes it is better without the sun, seems to be more vivid color to the capture. This is a great example. Wonderful capture.

Is that a Cormorant perched on the windmill? I get all Don Quixote when I see your windmill photos SEA.

The windmill is receiving some of the sun peeking through Mr. C. and it does pop against the grey skies.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
