Dutch Local Traffic Roundabout

This image was taken on April 19th, 2018. It shows a local traffic roundabout near an entrance of a village on the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

As you can see, this roundabout was decorated with both a buoy and tulips. The buoy because of the maritime character of this place (with many fishermen as inhabitants) and the tulips because it's a rather common use in Holland. See e.g. this one.

One may think that decorating traffic roundabouts would distract the attention of the traffic users, but as far as I know there wasn't any accident here up till now.

I like yours. The Arc de Triomphe is also well designed in the middle but who can see it with all that mad traffic circling it all day.

I wonder if constant car exhaust emissions could harm those beautiful tulips.

Here we have also flowers in the centre of roundabouts but nothing like a buoy. Nice photo of the well kept and arranged roundabout Cornelius.

A lovey bright island of beautiful tulips and the bouy is unique :)
We have many with plantings but have never seen a bouy - very appropriate for the area.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

We don't have many roundabouts in my area but I would love to go around this one - really speaks to the area.

Not aware of any roundabouts in my area...unless it counts that I'm often going in circles myself, lol...very colorful and cheerful one in your country...nice shot, SEA.

Roundabouts are not to plentiful in my area. The first one I saw was in a town about 90 miles away. I like to never quit going in circles.
This is a beauty and your country does such a great job of adding beauty and keeping everything so neat.
Neat shot SEA.

Comparing the two views I think I like this one with the buoy better, although I think it should be counterbalanced by placing something like a gig (one that no longer runs well) on the opposite side of the circle, since the middle has to be occupied by a light post. From your posts it seems a gig is another common sight there.
