This is a detailed image of THIS EVENT, showing three old harbor tugs.

the boat on on the left, the 'Dockyard III', is a special one to me, because she's has a steam engine. She, and seven sister ships, were built at the Rotterdam (The Netherlands) yard 'Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij' (RDM) (Rotterdam Dry-dock Company). The 'Dockyard III' was launched in 1946. Initially the ships were built for the ports of Murmansk (Russia). Because of the WWII the ships were never exported however. The yard decided to keep the ships under their own management and to use them as a tugboat. Only four of them still remain.

The Dockyard III has been in active service with the RDM until 1982. In April 2017 the ship was sold for demolition, but happily another owner has bought her in order for refurbishment, inclusive her steam engine. At the beginning of 2018, the steam engine boiler was approved again, allowing the ship to be active again, but only for nostalgic/heritage reasons.

Nice shot of these colourful old timers with great details Cornelius. We have here the old icebreaker called "Stettin" also with steam engine.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Real nautical feel to this one Mr. C. especially with them still having steam engines - they look well cared for and quite splendid in the sun.

In a comment on one of your previous submissions, C, I had mentioned hoping for some close ups of these tugs of yours so this one, gives me quite a bit of detail to work with. I can't see the decks but I'm more than halfway to my goal. Great colors and close-in focus, plus I'm a sucker for water features.
