In 2008, I saw the movie, "In Bruges" and immediately added visiting this beautiful city to my bucket list of places I wanted to visit. Thirteen years later, I still have it on the list but I have seen much of it through your pictures. For this, I thank you, Mr C.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Chasing a fine art degree in the 1970s, I perused weekly the section of art history tomes in the university library, where hauling the massive art volumes home resulted in something we art students called *weight training*. Throughout a college career, the mind of an art student absorbs a myriad of works by the masters, of all the ages. Often with Caedes submissions, my mind ferments quickly and brings up an image that the current one on the screen reminds me of. With the exception of that glorious architecture in the back, I am reminded of one of my favorite paintings. Now, what could it be?
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
'Nik' thanks for the link in your above comment, showing the wonderful 1884 painting 'A Sunday on La Grande Jatte' by Georges Seurat. When I compare the situation in downtown Bruges (and forget the many tourists there, 😁 ), I think the exuded atmosphere there is still quite similar to Seurat's painting. It's like the time stood still there!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!
