Good action shot, Garrett. You are right about them being priceless someday.
I particularly enjoy this because I do the same thing at my three grandsons sport activities. (Baseball, football and basketball.) I have sent photos to several of the families for several years. My daughter recently made links on Facebook for the activities and the interested parties can retrieve them there is they so desire. I generally take around 300 shots and cull them to around 50-75 for her Facebook site.

Terrific action shot. Most kids live in the moment, thinking little about how they'll change in just a few years and how great memories can be. The thing that photography brings to their table is that it's a perfect record of what happened when. Only a few years after graduating from a parochial grade school I went back and was surprised at how much smaller it was than I remembered. Your digital memories will be a treasured keepsake as long as you back them up to high-quality media, like DVDs that have a small amount of gold in their makeup. Most people forget about that. Standard DVDs and CDs have a manufacturer's suggested life of only 5 years, max. The gold disks are much longer, 80 to 100 years. It's what responsible state archives use. -Nik
