This is what is left of a cliff dwelling outside of Camp Verde, AZ. The inhabitants, the Sinaqua Indians, were cliff dwellers and used a series of ladders to reach the bottom level of this city, and additional ladders to climb ever upward once inside.

I agree with lithop, wonderful image! I wonder if you could just get a little more detail out of that area on the right by isolating and adjusting the midtones. Great composition!

Great shot. In this case, centering the subject accentuates the natural curvature of the opening in the cliff, and how the structures fit in this. Well done! - Dave

Hi there, and what a most magnificient photo! The colours are so soft...the light is just right. I hope you didn't have to climb too high to get this shot, and that maybe the zoom was able to do it for you.(I bet it did..hehe) It is so amazing how they lived up here...I would just love to know more about these places...got a clue as to where I can find that? Thanx for another great photo!! Keep 'em coming my friend!!

It's a hard, harsh light to work in but I think you did well with the shadows. Apart from being ingenious enough to build inside natural shelter it alwasy strikes me what modern designers they were with their shapes and lines. If this design were out of glass and steel it could be a modern art museum.

Amazing architecture to have lasted so long against the elements. Good shot of it, too.
