Snagged this one at the air museum near me. Just under 64 get long with a wingspan of 14 feet. This flying boat was one of most widely used plans in WW II. Madras, Oregon, USA.
Oh, yeah, the Flying Boat, utilized in the rescue of many downed WWII fighter pilots and scouting missions. I like your angle on the one. The cockpit windows, rectangular copper nose of the plane, and the vertical observation window below the nose combine to give the plane an anthropological appearance, as though the plane was forever saying "Ooooooh nooooo, we're goin' down again! Hang on everbodeeeeeeeeee!" I love it. Been reading books about WWII lately, and these machines figure prominently in them. Saved, faved, and definitely into my desktop wallpaper folder. Thanks, Ted.
