A small bell kiosk rests along the walking path outside the Asian Center. I've sat a few weekend retreats with my teachers there over the years. On the campus of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada.
When I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, I would often take walks downtown, choosing different routes just to spice things up a bit. One day I took a turn up what looked like an unused alley and found myself at a Shinto shrine (I think Shinto... it's been 44 years), where there was apparently a ceremony of some sort underway and a bunch of heads turned to glare(?) at this intruding American. I beat feet out but was there long enough to see the unique architecture and precise and well maintained landscaping was just like this... but without the glares. Even the smallest of structures are unique in their culture. You're lucky this place is open to everyone. Your comp is very good, using the path head at one side to draw our eye across the path to the bell kiosk. However, that mass of green pine boughs in the upper left and the large blue roof have so much energy they steal it from your main subject. Cropping down from the top about 15%, to just above the top of that large blue roof, would have diminished the strength of the roof and given it back to the kiosk. The result would also have been a pano that would emphasize the path and kiosk even more. Just a thought.
