Another shot from Christ Church Cathedral, this time in what is known as The Quire, which I believe is an archaic spelling of 'choir.' I'm totally ignorant regarding the Church of Ireland (England), so I have no idea what the helmets represent, other than since they each have a different sort of topnotch it could simply represent something on the family crest (see flags above.) Dublin, Ireland; September, 2016.

I'm sure you're right. Ten years ago I had to do a lot of research into French heraldry for the restoration of a 40 & 8, and the French do something similar. I pulled a copy of your photo and opened it in Photoshop, to try to see if there is any correlation between the coats and/or shields on the panels below the helmets, and the helmet crests themselves, but it's not clear enough. Perhaps your original image is sharp enough for you to see if there is. You might also examine the flags hanging above the helmets--12 flags for 12 helmets--because there appears to be a bird on the far right helmet and a bird of the corresponding flag. Great image, by the way.
