I snapped the photo of this woman while outside Shakespeare & Co. waiting for my granddaughter to finish her purchase inside. Evidently, this woman had also visited the bookstore and was now relaxing amid the cacophony usually going on in that area. Just this week, Topaz Labs has come out with a new, FREE (!!!) processing software called Topaz Studio. While running it through its paces, I discovered a preset that has this texture and thought it matched up with the city's artists from the late 1800s. While I probably will continue to use my two trusted stand alone processing software, I'm going to continue to use this preset from time to time within the new Topaz Studio. Paris, France; July, 2016.

Makes a wonderful B/W - really like the treatments - see she is relaxing with a glass of white wine with the bottle kept chilled also.

Very good filter preset. Very fine B&W image. The photo itself is good.

This is quite nice, Ted, and I agree with you about the style being reminiscent of French Impressionism (creating an illustration like this by hand, in college for fine art in the mid-70's, would have taken me at least a full day). Are the settings for this feature for black & white only, or can you also utilize the original colors? Following the concept of creating art from photos, do you know if this software can possibly reinterpret an image as Seurat's pointillism, with random dots instead of a pattern?

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

You can do color. I just chose B&W for this one.

I like this very much - both the scene and the texturalisation. Delighted to have it in the BWC. I shall add it on Wednesday - thank you.

I like Topaz stuff so will be having a look at this free studio :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
