When on my annual trek north, I usually make an effort to pass by this building. I really like how it stands at the end of the street backdropped by the bay in one of Canada's most British of cities. Victoria, BC, Canada.
Yes, very cool old building, Ted. amazing you didn't have any wires in the way. minus the car and people would have been nice. although i have tried many with these types of shots and if you get the minimum of either you done well. hard thing to do other then screaming out to "get the $#@% out of the way"...and that thought has crossed my mind a time or two.
back to your shot, crystal clear! very nice detail! i like the color of the sky and water pushing your subject up front to stand out even more so.

That gray wall enclosing the entrance stoop through me off a little; when I fist looked at this one I thought perhaps you were showing us an inundated structure, reinforced by the water behind it on the left. The architecture involved, with those curved dormers and elegant window lintels certainly sets this structure apart, not only dating it but projecting, if not its country then, its continent of origin--Europe. Your inclusion of the structures on both sides of the street give us a real sense of how tightly packed it is in this part of town. Nice.
