Grand Teton Mountain with Middle Teton on the left. At the time of the shot, there was still a little snow left on them. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA.
Gorgeous, rugged image. And you're right up there toward the tippy-top, too!
I have always been in awe of the immense power of the earth to thrust enormous mountains out of the terrain, up toward the sky. We have a dynamic home in our little sphere in the universe.
I like the lavender/blue atmospheric wash in the photograph. It's soothing and makes my eyes happy.
From a distance these mountains look like jagged teeth, somewhat like those of a gigantic dinosaur. I've seen plenty of photos of them but never a view this close. At first glance the thumbnail appears as a ver simple image, but enlargement brings out so much detail one could spend a long time studying the shot. Wherever there's shadow the shapes are soft, but the sunlit places, and wherever the rock edges against the snow, it's tack-sharp. I found the same phenomenon in Glacier National Park. Outstanding photography, Ted.
